Indiana University Southeast (isu.edu)

http://www.ius.edu/FutureStudents.cfm An example of the one-stop idea for students. It is layed out well and the fonts seem user friendly.  They are just bulleted lists — here’s my new edit

Virginia Tech (vt.edu)

http://www.vt.edu I like this site – it has a nice layout and a nice use of color.  I really like the band across the page — I think it shows a little arrogance or self confidence.  The band has links and information on it. http://www.campaign.vt.edu/campaign-vt/ I really like the giving site — it uses the … Read more

Washtenaw Community College (wccnet.edu/)

http://www.wccnet.edu/ This site is clever in its use of illustrations.  They start them on the homepage including the frame around the main image and continue them on landing pages. They have a nice band across the bottom of the homepage that makes a nice footer. http://www.wccnet.edu/academics/ Nice 2 column landing pages.  They have a colored … Read more

American (american.edu)

American just redid their website and used a lot of web 2.0 elements.  I like the more news button that pushes items down the page and reveals more news.  I also like the use of wikipedia that the community can edit to tell about the university.

Univ of Houston (uh.edu)

Like the use of real estate on the lower half of the page. They use tabs, but the tab is almost the width of the page – so they can get a lot of information to live on the homepage.

Notre Dame (nd.edu)

Notre Dame always seems to have something cool on it. They have the top part of their page dedicated to edited video. Their tool bar expands upward and moves the page down. The toolbar reveals common links, like email and the library. It also has a help center with links help — Their landing pages … Read more

Rochester (rochester.edu)

Rochester has the large image on the homepage.  The picture is a big, high quality photo that can be expanded on a large monitor.  There is a camera icon on the top that leads to more info about the photo on hover and leads to the gallery on click.  They have different galleries for special … Read more
